Homework at the Meriam Library

I personally do not like being in really quiet places, even when I am doing homework or studying. This does not mean I can concentrate in really loud places, I just like a little noise.  When I am doing my homework or studying I always have music playing in the background,  I sometimes even do this while I am about to fall asleep. So when we were assigned to visit a place that make us feel uncomfortable, I knew that the library is the place to go.

I do not hate the library it is not just my favorite place. The main reason I do not like it is because it so quiet, like I said before I do not like being in really quiet places. Also I feel really uncomfortable there because there is always so much people there it is just really   intimidating being there especially if you’re a freshmen, in my opining.  I went to the library on Tuesday to work on homework, since I only have one class Tuesday, I usually do homework all day on Tuesdays. When I was walking in the first thing I realized was how much people were entering and exiting. I decided to go to the third floor because someone told me it is one of the least quieter floors. When I first got there I realized how full it was, there was no empty tables, so I had to walk around to look for an empty one. I was wearing flip flops that day, so when I walked my flip flops made really loud noises. People were just staring at me while I walk because of the noise my flip flops made, I was so embarrassed. Once I found an empty table I put on my earphones and started doing my homework. During this time I was really paranoid that my music was really loud and that everyone could hear it, that was not a fun time. I was also really scared that if I made any movement I would be really loud and disturb someone. I managed to do homework for like an hour and a half, which was pretty good since I felt so uneasy there. After that I was really hungry, so I left to go get something to eat. When I was about to exit the library, I was about to exit through the entrance and the person in the front desk had to tell that the exit is the other way. That was really embarrassing, I am pretty sure they know I am freshman now. Anyways if you are going to the Meriam library make sure you do not wear shoes that make a lot of noise and exit through the right exit.
